Your information

Privacy & Cookies

How 1st Choice Construction uses information submitted through this website and how you can control optional cookies.

PrivacyCookies

Privacy policy

This website is operated by 1st Choice Construction, based in Solihull. We are responsible for the personal information we collect through the website to handle enquiries about our building services.

For privacy enquiries, email info@1stchoiceconstruction.co.uk. This page applies to the website and its enquiry form. It does not replace any project-specific information given when you enter into a building contract.

Information we collect

When you use the enquiry form, we collect your name, email address, town or postcode, selected service and message. A telephone number is optional. You may also attach relevant photographs or PDF drawings; we collect their filenames and contents. Please avoid including people or unrelated personal information in photographs. The enquiry is dated and saved in a private WordPress inbox. Please include only information relevant to your project; do not send payment details, identity documents or sensitive personal information through this form.

If you email us directly, your email address and the contents of your message are received in our business mailbox. We may need further property or project information when discussing the work with you.

Security checks use a temporary random browser-session identifier, submission tickets and verification results. The website uses a keyed hash derived from the connection IP address for short-lived rate limiting. The enquiry inbox does not add the connection IP address to the saved enquiry fields.

Why we use your information

We use enquiry details to understand your request, respond to you and discuss the building services you are considering. Where you ask us to take steps towards providing services, this processing supports your request before a contract. Responding to general enquiries and protecting the website also support our legitimate interests in running the business and maintaining a secure service.

Optional website analytics uses your consent. Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from browsing or contacting us. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing emails; this website does not provide a mailing-list signup.

Hosting, email and sharing

The website and business email are hosted by Nexar Web Services. Website enquiries are saved in the private WordPress inbox and a notification containing the submitted details is sent to the business enquiry mailbox. Access to that inbox is restricted to authorised administrators. Uploaded enquiry files stay with the private WordPress enquiry record, outside the public Media library. The notification lists filenames and links to the protected inbox; it does not attach the files or provide a public download link.

Google reCAPTCHA processes information for automated abuse detection when you use the enquiry form. Google Analytics processes website-use information only when it is configured and you accept the optional analytics service. The website has no payment checkout, customer account registration, embedded maps or advertising integration in this build.

We do not sell website enquiry information. Information may also need to be disclosed where required by law. If your project requires other trades, any project-specific sharing should be discussed as part of arranging the work rather than treating a website enquiry as permission to pass your details to unrelated businesses.

Form protection and security

The enquiry form uses Google reCAPTCHA v3, a hidden anti-spam field, session-bound submission checks and rate limiting. Google verification is mandatory for this form and is separate from optional analytics. If verification is not configured or fails, sending is unavailable; you can contact us by email instead.

Google may process technical information such as browser, device and interaction signals to assess whether a request is likely to be automated. The form uses Google’s recaptcha.net script endpoint. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for its handling of information. Google services may involve processing outside the UK under Google’s applicable arrangements; this website does not assert a specific Google processing location.

We restrict administrator access and validate form submissions before saving or notifying. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Public page caching excludes login, administrator pages and the native enquiry page.

Storage and removal

Accepted enquiries are stored privately in WordPress, and notifications are sent to the business mailbox. The website does not automatically delete enquiries after a fixed period. Authorised administrators can remove saved enquiries, including their uploaded files, and use WordPress personal-data export and erasure tools. An export identifies submitted filenames; ask us if you also need copies of the submitted documents. Erasure of an enquiry removes its uploaded files from the website record. Business email messages are managed separately from the website inbox.

Temporary submission tickets expire after 20 minutes. Rate-limit records expire after 10 minutes, and duplicate-submission references expire after one day. These temporary records support security and reliability rather than acting as a marketing profile. The browser-session security cookie expires with the browser session.

Contact us if you want to ask about or request removal of your personal information. Removing a website record does not by itself remove related business correspondence or records that need separate consideration.

Your privacy rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access your personal information, correct inaccurate details, request erasure, restrict processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or receive information in a portable form where that right applies. These rights have conditions and may be subject to legal exceptions.

Email info@1stchoiceconstruction.co.uk with enough information for us to understand your request. We may need to confirm your identity before disclosing information. You can withdraw optional analytics consent using the cookie controls below; withdrawal does not undo earlier processing.

If you are unhappy with our handling of personal information, contact us first so we can address the issue. You can also raise a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Cookie policy

Cookies and similar browser storage help websites remember information between visits. This website separates storage used to keep the site and enquiry form working from optional analytics.

Your choices

When Google Analytics is configured, you can accept or reject optional analytics. It is blocked until you accept it. If analytics is not configured, the banner provides essential-storage information without adding an optional tracking service. You can reopen the controls here at any time.

Manage cookie choices

Essential site storage

  • Cookie-choice preference: the nexar_fcc-site_consent cookie stores your choices and their expiry for 180 days. It is first-party storage used to remember this preference.
  • fcc_form_session: a random, HttpOnly first-party session cookie used by the enquiry form to bind submission tickets to your browser. It expires with the browser session and is not an analytics identifier.
  • WordPress authentication: login and administrator users receive native WordPress session/authentication cookies as part of accessing protected screens. They are used for authentication and administration rather than public visitor tracking.

Google form protection — Required

Allow Google reCAPTCHA use on the enquiry forms. This is required for automated abuse protection and has no off switch in the cookie choices. Google documents its _GRECAPTCHA cookie as necessary for risk analysis when reCAPTCHA is executed. Its storage is governed by Google’s service. Rejecting optional analytics does not turn off this required verification.

Optional Google Analytics

When a Google Analytics measurement ID has been connected, the optional analytics service helps us understand visits and how pages are used. It may process page and interaction information, browser/device details and online identifiers. It starts only after you accept analytics. No Google Analytics measurement ID is included in the initial package, so analytics stays inactive until one is configured.

Google Analytics 4 commonly uses the first-party _ga and _ga_<container-id> cookies to distinguish visitors and maintain session state. Google documents a default expiry of two years, although browser restrictions may shorten it. This implementation disables Google signals and advertising personalisation and does not enable advertising consent.

Reject analytics to prevent it loading. On withdrawal, the site disables its analytics collection and attempts to remove the analytics cookies accessible to this website. The preference applies on subsequent page loads. Blocking cookies in your browser may affect remembered choices or form security.

Read Google’s Analytics cookie information and Google’s Privacy Policy for provider details.

Changes to this page

We may update this page when the website or the way information is used changes. The date shown on this page identifies this wording. Material changes to optional cookie purposes may require a new choice.
